To make an application for studying in the United States of America, the following documents are required:

1) Academic Transcripts:

The academic transcripts and certificates from your previous educational institution are required at the time of making an application for studying in the USA. They include high school diploma certificates, undergraduate course transcripts, graduate transcripts, as well as bachelor’s degree transcripts.

2) Transcript Evaluations:

The transcripts provided by the students outside the USA are evaluated by the National Association of Credentials Evaluators.

3) English Proficiency Proof:

The students are required to submit the result of the English proficiency test. This is very crucial to studying in the USA to ensure that language is not an obstacle in your academic journey. The most popular English proficiency exams are IELTS and TOEFL.

Necessary Financial Documents

1. Proof of Funds

The candidate must have the required balance in his/her bank account to study in the USA. This is necessary to know your financial ability to pay the university fees and living expenses while studying in the USA. The official bank accounts of the student must show the balance as per the form I-20 issued by the university.

Moreover, an additional amount of $3000 is required in case someone is accompanying the student as a dependent during their study.

2. Affidavit of Support

If a parent is funding the education of the students, then they need to show an affidavit of support to confirm their financial ability. 

3. Scholarship:

If a student is awarded any scholarship or financial assistance, then they need to submit the sanction letters as proof of financial assistance.

1. Application Process For F-1 Visa

F-1 Visa is issued to students who want to study at universities in the USA.

      • As soon as you receive Form I-20 from your university, you become eligible to make an application for an F-1 Visa. 
      • Make the payment for the SEVIS fee and read all the necessary information present on the SEVIS Form about the legal obligations of an F-1 student.
      • Pay the visa application fee and schedule an interview at the US consulate/ embassy.
      • You must have a valid passport that must stay valid for at least six months after the expected stay in the USA.
      • You need to bring your SEVIS Form, passport, and financial documents with you to the interview.
      • The USA counsellor will assess your documents, and if you are eligible, they will approve your F-1 Visa application.
